Jake's 1st Birthday

We had a birthday party for Jake with friends from our play group. Jake was very very serious that day. Not sure why .. perhaps he was coming to terms with his old age. He tasted his first chocolate cake, and made a delightful mess. We weren't sure how much he liked it, but it wasn't for lack of effort on my part. He had chocolate cupcakes with chocolate malt frosting. They were delicious! A new recipe I found in a library book.

I tried and tried to get some cute pictures of him on his big day, but he wasn't feeling very photogenic for some reason.

He really likes his new steering wheel - don't judge his opinion of the toy by the look on his face! He has been playing with it non-stop since it arrived :-)

Here he is, doing some work on the new work bench.

Out for a stroll

We took Jake downtown to the farmers market - his favorite part was pushing his stroller down the sidewalk.
Here he is - walking around in his moose shoes :-)

Jake's First Christmas

Brian and Jake and I celebrated Christmas on the 27th when we were all back home together. Thank you to everyone for your generosity. We got lots of fun toys and books and clothes for Jake. We appreciate them all! I didn't get pictures of very much - it was too much fun to be behind a camera for long!

Jake loves his new dump truck from Aunt Sara & Uncle Tyler! It is so much fun.
Paper is fun to rip!
A new doggy from Aunt Sheila .. Woof woof!

Reading is so much fun. Jake got a lot of new books for Christmas and loves looking at all of them.

Chico Christmas

Jake and I were so lucky to get to go to Chico to spend Christmas with my side of the family. Brian had to work from the 23rd - 26th, so we thought it would be more fun to be with family than sitting around at home alone. We had a great trip - it was so nice to be there! Brian and Jake and I had our own Christmas at home in Avondale on the 27th when we were all back together again.

If you look closely you will see a little "ice cream" moustache on Jake. Grandma Debbie's homemade ice cream was Jake's first ice cream! Yum!
